Are these Mastered goals?

Been here in LA for going on eight months and it had occured to me that i haven't been doing all that i can do to accomplish my dreams...
These are my mastered goals... Am i going in the right direction?

*Find more than one Job...
*Get money to afford a drivers school...
*Join a Driver's School, or figure out how to get my liscence without having to depend on others because its my responsibilty and no one else's...
*After this play is finished i am making sure that i have nothing limiting me from working...
*Save my money! so by the end of six months and by the end of this strike i can have enough money to live... and be a working actor...
*Buy Postcards and more headshots, so i may send out to casting directors and agents, so i may target...
*Take audition classess
*take workshop classess, after i send out the postcards and things, so casting directors start to recognize me...
*Take MOre acting classess...
*above all get my liscence one way or another... because that is the only things stopping me...
*once i get my liscence figure out how to get into EXTRA work, so i may see how things work on a set...
*Continue to Target
*NO spending money on movies!
*No going out!
*get to the point where i may go to auditions where i don't have to cancel any auditions, and make them on my own...
*audtion! audition! Audition!
*Buy a Guitar, work on my music...
*BE HAPPY!!!

Those are the mastered goals that i feel i might have to accomplish in order to reach my dreams... Are these right?

Hi Niki,

You are on the right track by writing them down, but they are still objectives. They are not MASTERed goals.

If you want to MASTER them, you need to be sure they are measurable, accountable, specific, accountable, exciting, and realistic.

“Find more than one job,” is not something you control, and therefore you are not accountable. "Apply to five jobs on my next day off" is something you can control, and therefore you are accountable. Now ask yourself, is that realistic? Can you apply to five jobs in one day, or perhaps one job application is enough?

“Figure out how to do extra work,” becomes I will submit my picture to Central Extras Casting by the end of the month.

“Take more workshops,” becomes I will take one workshop a month. If one workshop per month is not realistic now because of money, then it is not a goal you can MASTER at this time.

MASTERed goals are not wishes or objectives, they are the specific and measured actions that you can realistically take, and over which you have total control, by which you will achieve your exciting objective. They should make you feel empowered, not overwhelmed.

"Be Happy," becomes I will do one thing each day that makes me happy.

Did you do something today that made you happy? If not, you have not MASTERed that goal.

When i listed those things, it wasn't to be done all at once... They're like stepping stones... And the first step is applying for jobs.. And guess what? I applied for 5 jobs today! And tommorow i am doing the same thing... I didn't spend the little money that i have on silly things... so its all a process and i am accomplishing the little stepping stones... but ya, i will specify my mastered goals... thanks!

Niki,

Congratulations on the five job interviews. I hope they were for jobs that excited you. I've also heard that you finally got through to your aunt who will be giving you another driving lesson this week.

My comments on your list of goals were not meant as a critisism. On the contrary, I applaud you for writing them down and recording them here. I simply want you, and everyone else, to understand the point of MASTERed goals. You can't call a goal MASTERed unless it is truely MASTERed.

We all have dreams and wishes. But when you learn to only hold yourself accountable for MASTERed goals, you can become less distressed by the actions of others.

When you apply for jobs you need to be specific about the company you are applying to and how you can help the business.

You want to act. Apply for jobs in your field even if it is sweeping the set.

There are all kinds of work in the entertainment industry. A lot of people have gotten their start in standup commedy. I have a friend here on Oahu who workd many years building sets. He has some contacts if you are interested.

Point being, looking for a job does not set you apart from everyone else that is applying. Knowing the job you are applying to and why you are the best applicant set you ahead of 90% of the other applicants.
